Terms of Service
Before We Begin
Welcome to ROOTATOM.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are the rules for using ROOTATOM (the “Service”).
We know. Nobody enjoys reading Terms of Service. But they’re important because they explain what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and what happens if either of us does something spectacularly stupid.
By accessing or using ROOTATOM, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree with them, you should not use the Service.
Simple enough.
1. Who These Terms Apply To
By using ROOTATOM, you confirm that:
- You are legally permitted to use the Service in your jurisdiction.
- You will comply with applicable laws.
- Any information you provide is accurate.
- If you’re using ROOTATOM on behalf of an organization, you have permission to do so.
If any of those aren’t true, this is probably where your journey ends.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for your account. That includes:
- Keeping your login credentials secure.
- Keeping account information accurate.
- Monitoring activity under your account.
If someone gains unauthorized access to your account, let us know as soon as possible. Preferably before they start causing chaos.
You are responsible for activities that occur through your account unless the issue was caused by our negligence or security failure.
3. Using ROOTATOM
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use ROOTATOM for its intended educational and informational purposes.
In normal human language:
- You can use ROOTATOM.
- You cannot pretend you built ROOTATOM.
- You cannot sell ROOTATOM.
- You cannot copy ROOTATOM and launch “ROOTATOM But Slightly Worse.”
Except where permitted by law, you may not copy or reproduce the Service, modify the Service, reverse engineer the Service, create derivative works from the Service, or distribute or resell the Service.
4. Things You Must Not Do
Please do not:
- Break the law.
- Violate someone else’s rights.
- Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
- Interfere with platform security.
- Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without permission.
- Scrape or harvest data from the Service unless explicitly permitted.
- Impersonate another person or organization.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
- Disrupt the experience of other users.
This list is not exhaustive. If you’re doing something that would make a cybersecurity professional sigh heavily, it’s probably not allowed.
5. Content You Submit
You retain ownership of content you submit to ROOTATOM, including feedback, bug reports, suggestions, support requests, and other user-submitted materials.
However, by submitting content, you grant ROOTATOM a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, reproduce, modify, and display that content as necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
For example: if you report a bug, we need permission to read the bug report. Turns out that’s difficult without a license.
You also confirm that you have the rights necessary to submit the content, the content does not violate anyone else’s rights, and the content does not contain information you are not authorized to share.
6. Intellectual Property
ROOTATOM, including its software, content, branding, design, features, and trademarks, belongs to ROOTATOM or its licensors. Intellectual property laws protect these assets.
Using ROOTATOM does not give you ownership of ROOTATOM. It gives you permission to use it under these Terms.
There’s a difference. A very important one.
7. Service Availability
We work hard to keep ROOTATOM available and functioning. However, services can break. Servers can fail. Bugs can appear. The internet occasionally decides to be difficult.
We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may also temporarily suspend access to address security concerns, legal requirements, technical issues, or operational risks.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We wish we could.
8. Third-Party Services
ROOTATOM may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. Those services have their own terms, privacy policies, rules, and decisions.
We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, actions, or practices. If you choose to use a third-party service, you do so at your own discretion and subject to that service’s terms.
9. Privacy
Your use of ROOTATOM is also governed by our Privacy Policy. That document explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and how we protect it.
By using ROOTATOM, you acknowledge the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
ROOTATOM is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties regarding availability, reliability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or error-free operation.
Educational tools can help you learn. They cannot magically complete the learning for you.
ROOTATOM provides educational and informational resources and does not constitute professional, legal, financial, medical, or other regulated advice.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ROOTATOM and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.
This includes losses relating to profits, revenue, data, goodwill, and business opportunities.
If we are found liable despite the above limitations, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Service during the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or Fifty U.S. Dollars (US$50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
If your actions cause legal claims, damages, losses, or expenses against ROOTATOM because you violated these Terms or applicable laws, you agree to indemnify and hold ROOTATOM harmless to the extent permitted by law.
In simpler terms: please don’t create problems and then send us the bill.
13. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to ROOTATOM if you violate these Terms, your activities create security risks, we are required to do so by law, or operational circumstances make it necessary.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that are intended to survive termination will continue to apply.
Lawyers call this a survival clause. Lawyers really enjoy naming things.
14. Changes to These Terms
The internet changes. Technology changes. Regulations change. Occasionally, so do our Terms.
When that happens, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of ROOTATOM after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
If you disagree with the revised Terms, you should stop using the Service.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ROOTATOM is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Where permitted by law, disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction. By using ROOTATOM, you consent to that venue.
16. Contact Us

And yes, somebody actually read all of this.
